I have loosely followed Spool for a few years now. I think portfolio management is an area that will breed a lot of cool projects, and very little has been done so far. It’s a niche better suited for a more mature DeFi, but it is a sure opportunity to be early that hasn’t come yet. My Principal-Protected Yield report explores this area a little bit.

Spool is building in this niche, and I have been somewhat let down by the roadmap and ambition in the past. It’s almost a cool idea, but doesn’t quite deliver anything that gets you really excited. It also has a voSpool token model which is a hard pass for me.

Great idea to parse thru the small cap tokens. From experience, there's usually a reason why these tokens are trading at depressed valuations. Mostly related to subpar execution, product/PMFit, no community, less motivated founders.

That could however change once market comes back, tokens pump and traders will look for low-cap gems.

Yeah absolutely. Defi resurgence murmurs are on the TL, people are bidding AAVE… last time we had a defi bull market, we had KOLs tweeting out asking if anyone knew of defi tokens under 30M mkt cap. Trump has a defi project… def agree tokens are down bad for a reason, but market is pretty complacent rn too. If bunni trashes LIT and starts over I bet it would be 60M+ easy

I rmber you mentioned IPOR in a previous report and I still follow the project.

At $25m FDV also a small-cap gem and a team that keeps iterating to find PMFit.

Yeah I still really like IPOR. planning to cover it again when timing is right. The swaps are cool but I think fusion and some of these structured products will succeed first

Not anything super groundbreaking right away, but looks like a good direction for them to head in. They are essentially rebranding as YieldLayer and making a composable fungible marketplace type this for yield with smart vaults and strategies. Looks similar to IPOR Fusion at first glance, but they haven't released much info. Minimal token price change so far.
