Aave Labs recently submitted a proposal to the DAO to develop Aave 2030.
Aave 2030 aims to continue expanding Aave as the dominant DeFI platform. This proposal requested a grant of 15M GHO + 25,000 stkAAVE.
Aave Labs published a separate temp-check on building Aave V4.
V3 introduced many improvements including increased capital efficiency (eMode and other features) and reduced gas costs.
V4 is looking to build on these improvements through a new architecture that supports a unified liquidity layer, fuzzy interest rates, smart accounts, vaults, liquidity premiums, increased GHO integration, and more.

The unified liquidity layer is an essential step in optimizing Aave, as the infrastructure will allow for onboarding/offboarding new modules and adding/improving features without needing
