Cosmos Hub ICS Proposal Goes Live

The proposal for Interchain Security went live on the Cosmos Hub today. This proposal is for v1, which has been renamed “Replicated Security” for a more accurate description. In v1, the entire validator set for the Hub will be replicated on each consumer chain. Future versions will allow validators to opt in/out.

ICS is the most anticipated upgrade for the Hub over the past few years. The proposal will run until March 7th and assuming a passing vote, will be added to the Hub through an upgrade. After, Consumer Chains can start the process of applying for security from the Hub through on-chain proposals. The first chain expected to go live is Neutron, a general purpose CosmWasm chain.
