Prohibition is an emerging open platform for generative art, essentially positioning itself as the “Art Blocks” of the Arbitrum network.
This week marks the launch of Prohibition, and it’s kicking off in style with a series of 11 collections that will be available for minting from Wednesday through to next week Friday. These collections feature works from a mix of established generative artists who already have collections on platforms like Art Blocks or Foundation, as well as up-and-coming artists.
A few notable artists include:
-
Emily Edelman
-
Loren Bednar
-
Andrew Mitchell
-
Ed Balloon
-
Sillytuna
The collections are intentionally small, with fewer than 500 pieces each, and the mint prices are kept affordable, mostly under 0.1 ETH. Two collections, Monospatial and Necromancer, have already been minted out and are performing well on the secondary market, with floor prices above their mint prices.
Prohibition’s approach seems to align more with platforms like Fxhash on Tezos, where the focus is on making art collection a fun and personal experience.
It’s less about flipping high-demand mints for profit, and more about finding and collecting artwork that resonates with you on a personal level and supporting the artists you admire. Worth keeping in mind if you’re an art lover.
