- Synopsis: Proposed by Sushi core team member OmakaseBar, this proposal recommends that Sushi reserve 2% of the 5-basis point fee earned on non-Ethereum chains and L2s.
- Pro Argument: OmakaseBar makes the point that deploying Sushi to other chains is more complex than deploying contracts on Ethereum. Sushi needs to fund staff to monitor and test infrastructure, community build, and manage Sushi’s expansions onto these chains. Channeling a portion of the fees to support operations helps Sushi grow long-term.
- Against Argument: This reduces fees earned by xSUSHI stakers. This may drive liquidity providers to other platforms that allow providers to earn higher fees.
- Our Opinion: DAOs need capital to operate and grow. It seems completely reasonable to us that some portion of the fees earned by Sushi are earmarked to support this expansion.
