A Walkthrough of Crypto Raiders

Today, Delphi has given me 1,000 USDC to purchase a Crypto Raider and use it to compete in daily tournaments. The objective? Score some $AURUM from prizes and put together a Crypto Raiders cheat sheet for our members.

Crypto Raiders is a play-and-earn, web-based RPG that centers around playable Raider NFTs. The core gameplay loop consists of leveling up  characters, defeating mobs in dungeons, and finding epic loot. Think: Diablo, Final Fantasy, or World of Warcraft.

Today, we’ll be demystifying how to get started by using the 1,000 USDC to get our feet wet in the Crypto Raiders universe.

Getting Started with Crypto Raiders

Crypto Raiders is on the Polygon network (MATIC), so you’ll need to have a wallet connected to Polygon. Here’s a guide to configuring Polygon on Metamask. You’ll also need to have some WETH and/or USDC on the Polygon Network. An alternate way to do this is via Synapse. I’ll take my USDC that’s on ETH, and send that over to the Polygon Network. WETH will be used to buy Raiders and MOBs on OpenSea, while USDC can be traded into the other two tokens that are useful in the game, $AURUM and $RAIDER.

Multiple Ways to Get Involved (GameFi)

Crypto Raiders represents an interesting fulfilment of the GameFi thesis, where players can get their finances involved in the game, and based on their game knowledge and skill, be able to earn. With this, it provides multiple avenues to earn and get involved in the Crypto Raiders economy. All of which have varying capital outlays, time outlays, and stability of earnings.

[1] Buy a raider and compete in duels: this is what the majority of this guide will be devoted to. We will be purchasing a Raider character, who we will then stuff full of dungeon keys and $AURUM so that they’ll be tournament ready by the end of the day.
