
BitDAO Rebrands to Mantle
BitDAO has undergone a rebranding to Mantle, effectively consolidating its ecosystems under the Mantle brand. To provide context:

BitDAO is an ecosystem investment DAO closely affiliated with Bybit, a centralized cryptocurrency exchange (CEX).

Mantle Network is an Optimistic rollup (ORU) backed by BitDAO’s funding.
This rebranding was initiated with the intention of unifying the BitDAO/Mantle community under one brand — Mantle — to eliminate any existing division and encourage collaborative efforts. Importantly, while this rebranding alters the outward appearance of BitDAO, it doesn’t impact its operational framework. BitDAO will continue functioning as it has been. For ease of understanding, we will refer to the BitDAO/Mantle ecosystem as “Mantle” and to the layer 2 solution as the “Mantle Network” throughout this report.

Multi-Party Computation (MPC): Mantle Network incorporates multi-party computation to minimize trust risk associated with L2 execution outcomes. Through the use of threshold signature scheme (TSS) technology, specialized nodes participate in multi-party signatures, enhancing the accuracy of off-chain transaction execution results. This mechanism helps to shorten the challenge period for withdrawals.

Decentralized Sequencer: In a progressive move towards decentralization, Mantle plans to decentralize its sequencer, ensuring more secure and trustless block production. By rotating a permissionless set of sequencers, Mantle aims to mitigate the risk of a single point of failure or network censorship.
Modular Data Availability
Mantle Network offers a unique solution to the challenges associated with traditional Optimistic rollups (ORUs) like Arbitrum and Optimism, which post compressed L2 data on the Ethereum mainnet, leading to expensive data storage and fluctuating transaction costs during periods of high mainnet usage.
Mantle’s integration of EigenDA into its data availability layer enables increased transaction throughput and lower fees without compromising security.
