New Trading Layer

‎Jito's bid to turn Solana's broken spot experience into a proper exchange for crypto and real-world assets.

JTX is Jito’s attempt to move from core Solana infrastructure into the retail trading relationship. The product is positioned as a self-custodial trading and brokerage layer for Solana, beginning with spot trading across crypto assets, memecoins, tokenized equities and other RWAs, before expanding into perpetuals through Phoenix, and eventually prediction markets. The target users are maybe not the memecoin trenchers but the advanced retail traders who want the superior execution, order routing, portfolio management, and asset breadth that already exists on Solana but packaged neatly all in one interface.

The opportunity exists because Solana’s trading market has matured faster than its frontends. The chain already has deep spot liquidity, increasingly sophisticated prop AMMs, and a growing tokenized equity market led by Backpack, xStocks, and others. Yet the user experience remains split between high-fee memecoin terminals on one side and fragmented pro venues on the other. JTX’s wedge is to package the Solana tech and liquidity into a CEX-grade trading surface while preserving self-custody and onchain settlement.

Jito’s unique edge here is the infrastructure underneath the app. The team has spent years building the execution stack between a user’s click and the Solana network, including the top validator client, JitoSOL, and BAM (the block assembly marketplace). BAM’s adoption doubled in Q1 and now represents more than a third of Solana stake. Prop AMMs can now land oracle updates far more reliably through BAM and its custom maker priority plugin than through the standard transaction path. If that reliability continues to translate into tighter spreads, better order execution, and more dependable advanced order types, JTX directly utilizes Jito’s backend infrastructure into a frontend distribution advantage.

The thesis is still early and has several moving parts. JTX must prove that a new interface can change user habits in a market where Jupiter, Phantom, Backpack, and memecoin terminals already own mindshare and user habits. Phoenix perps still need liquidity, tokenized equities remain structurally and legally fragmented, and BAM’s market-structure benefits become more powerful as dominance increases. Management has guided that 80% of JTX fees will be directed toward JTO value accrual, but JTO remains a governance token that does not represent equity, ownership, or any legal claim on cash flows.

This report argues that JTX should be understood as the access layer of Solana’s broader market structure. Jito is combining execution infrastructure, validator distribution, market-maker tooling, and now a consumer-facing trading product. The central question is whether that stack can convert infrastructure credibility into a daily trading relationship. If it can, JTX becomes Jito’s bid to own a brokerage layer for internet capital markets.
