TLDR
Robinhood spent its HOOD Summit pitching AI agents as the next generation of traders and more than 150,000 agentic accounts have opened since May.
However, currently Robinhood gives those agents no credit and in-app agents have no margin and customers carry all the risk for what their agents do.

Priors is one answer and it’s already live on Robinhood Chain.
It lends unsecured USDG to AI agents once someone else has put money in front of the line. Every loan and repayment goes on chain and feeds a score any app can check. In 17 days agents repaid 28,295 loans worth ~$213K with zero defaults. The median loan came back in 90 minutes and the largest was $11. Most lending on Robinhood Chain wants collateral and ignores the borrower. Priors is built around the borrower and that’s what I like about it. The goal is a public record of whether each agent pays back what it borrows.
Disclosure: I hold PRIORS. This isn’t a case to buy it but more of an exploration of what the protocol does and the problem its trying to solve. PRIORS is weeks old, the loans are tiny and the token’s main job is still in audit. Not financial advice.
Why an Agent Needs Credit at All
“Loans for AI agents” sounds like a joke until an agent does real work. Then it hits the small business problem of paying costs before it gets paid.

A research agent pays for data, inference and API calls before anyone pays it. A lot of that gets paid over x402, a standard that lets an API charge per request in USDG. The agent pays as it goes and can run short mid-job. Today the owner’s only fix is to pre-fund it with more cash than it needs. That cash sits idle and makes the agent a target if it’s compromised.
Here’s what an agent can do with a credit line.
- Finish a job. An agent paying for data or inference over x402 borrows the shortfall instead of failing on a 402 error, then repays when its client pays.
- Hire another agent. Agents on Robinhood Chain already rent themselves out by the minute, and a line lets one agent pay another before its own client pays it.
- Open a storefront. Minimum Viable Agent used its first $5 to open a shop that sells record checks on any Robinhood Chai
