Solayer is a restaking protocol built on Solana that aims to empower on-chain dApps with improved network bandwidth and transaction throughput, serving as a marketplace for blockspace. Its main goal is to optimize validator node resource allocation through staking, thereby improving the quality of service (QoS) for specific applications by handling txs during high network congestion.
Solayer launched ahead of Jito in May and is currently the leading restaking platform in terms of TVL, with over 1.5M SOL restaked (both natively and through LSTs, including jitoSOL). However, this is primarily due to Jito’s deposits being capped and full at the moment, with ~230k SOL restaked across three vault operators.
Jito, the leading staking platform and MEV-infra provider on Solana, and a counterpart to Flashbots + Lido on Ethereum, is developing a new restaking platform to integrate their SOL LST (jitoSOL, the largest LST on Solana) into their stack, planning to support multiple SPL tokens.
