FTX Estate SOL Sales

The FTX Estate is said to have completed its second tranche of ~1.8M SOL ($232M) in the range of $95-110. This is a much smaller discount to spot price than the earlier round of $64.

The next round looks to start on May 1st and will be open to non-US and US accredited investors. I believe there are still 12M SOL left to sell.

Following up on my previous question about Cosmos, why would a team choose to launch a Cosmos app chain versus launching an L2/rollup on ETH
From the top of my head, I would say internalize MEV and having more customizable space to innovate are the main ones to choose to launch an appchain over an ETH rollup. The majority of rollups today don’t capture any value out of their users’ activ...

A Week In Runes

With Runes turning one week old, I wanted to see how they have been performing and what market dynamics are emerging in this new meta-token. I was initially excited about Runes, but as their launch was so telegraphed, I figured the reaction to it would be muted, as the market had probably priced in the excitement around Runes far in advan

Bitcoin Light Pools

Now that Runes are live, Casey Rodarmor has theorized a solution to decentralize Rune/inscription markets. As I am sure readers know, the trading around Inscriptions and Runes is centralized because of Bitcoin’s limited scripting language. Most people trade Inscriptions and Runes on Cexs or centralized auction platforms like Unisat or Mag

Rune Pups vs BRC-20 Update

In a recent AF post, I looked to see if there was upside in buying Rune Pups ordinals vs PUPS BRC-20. I outlined some very optimistic scenarios for holding a rare Rune Pup. The team has finally released the actual allocation based on Rune Pup type so...

A new project launched by 0xMaki (ex Sushiswap & Currently LayerZero) has gained some attention on Twitter. Here I will breakdown what it is.

  • The Problem: Ethereum staking dynamics around LSTs and LRTs have centralized staking power through a few issuers. This has made it easier to be an “economic contributor” (i.e. the supplier of ET

Block Builders cannibalizing each other's profits by subsidizing

A fun war is happening at block builders’ backyard

New block builders trying to gain slot share have been subsidizing block bids for proposers to choose them and kick off their builders, some even at a loss. The assumption is that eventually they will be at the top and could start being more competitive and offer the true block bid valu
